Picturesque Towns and Villages of Scotland
Those readers who have had the privilege of visiting any of the small towns or villages in Scotland will probably share my passion for the beauty of these small dots on the map.
For instance, take my favorite village, Pittenweem, the quaint fishing village of East Neuk, Fife. It’s the most active of the local fishing ports, always a hive of activity. I used to spend many happy hours at the harbor with my brother, watching the activities of the fishermen. Somehow we always ended up with an ice cream cone in our hands no matter what the weather was like. I can remember the ice cream blowing off the cones in the cold wind; we would return to the vendor and buy another one, and back to the water’s edge we would go.
The surrounding villages are all picturesque and quaint as well, with their red-tiled rooftops and whitewashed houses.
Which village is your favorite? maybe it’s Crail or St. Monans……tell us about them, we would love to hear from you
